A Bit About Me

I am curious about the world around me. That's my main drive to explore and study the many fantastic beings surrounding us. I started on the journey to try and understand the beings we call chimpanzees in 2007, in Zambia, in Chimfunshi. After finishing my MSc. degree in psychology, I became convinced that in order to truly understand ourselves, how we have come to be the way we are, we need a broader perspective than psychology. We need a comparative perspective. Building on the work of many biologists and comparative psychologists before me, I feel privileged to be able to research the intricate social lives of great apes in pursuit of little insights that make sense in the light of evolution. The evolution of culture, in particular. Where do our wonderful expressions of culture come from?
